In the early 1990s at the beginning of Wendy's career, there were few women in insurance. But that wasn't going to stop her from chasing her dream of owning an operating her own agency. After all, she had the desire, knowledge and drive to succeed in the business.

However, Wendy had to make a lot of personal sacrifices like cashing in her 401k to go to work for Len Sevigney, and then supporting her young family on only $350/week. But with Len's guidance and financial support, Wendy developed a plan to create enough business to start her agency. And so, in 1993, Tapley Insurance was born, providing and serving comprehensive insurance solutions to individuals and businesses in Southern New England.

As the agency grew, so did their expertise. The interests of Wendy and her daughter, Savannah, naturally brought in clients from the restaurant and marine industries, while other sales executives provided construction and property management expertise. Tapley Insurance continued to acquire passionate partners like her son, Josh, who recently joined the agency, and Eastern Alliance, who helps bring fresh perspectives and new possibilities to the agency.
